The nature of my mixes is I usually have at least one or two "squint sideways" songs, so that's not you, lol.

Ummm well, I think the Romeo Void, Dolly Parton and Cyndi Lauper are pretty straight forward... "Dancing in the Dark" is, for me, about realizing that disillusion that monotony of life and wanting someone more and looking for someone to share it with. So, for Alex and Sally, I felt like it sort of represented this moment when they might look at each other and say "Okay, this place sucks and we're stuck here, but instead of just surviving, let's live now, shall we?"

Kodachrome has two meanings; superficially, I put it on there because it's about a camera and Sally's a photographer, so. But I also really love the dichotomy of black and white versus colour, because the time periods in both LoM and A2A are so visually different in terms of the modern era always being these muted tones and the past being so much more colourful and lively. Basically, I think the song can be read as a simple "I love my camera cos it's flashy," or be seen more like the camera is a metaphor for actually being able to see how real everything is, and the fear of potentially losing that and going back to a life with a more narrow spectrum.
